We are all in this TOGETHER . . .
For nearly 30
years, United Methodist Social Ministries has worked to promote a nurturing
community that improves the lives of its people. We believe we have a responsibility to
innovate, sponsor, and evaluate new forms of community that will encourage each
of us to reach our fullest potential.
To fulfill that purpose, we must all work together and UMSM works with other social agencies, governmental agencies and the interfaith community throughout the Las Vegas Valley. United Methodist Social Ministries is a member of Nevadans for the Common Good and works with their membership to address the larger issues that affect everyone in our community.
We have three core programs that deliver resources and services to the community:
Family Pantry: A weekend client choice family food pantry which serves over 7,000 clients per year
Hats and Hands: A collaboration with the Homeless Alliance which provides warm clothing to homeless families and individuals during the colder months
Fostering in Faith: A partnership with the Clark County Department of Family Services to recruit, train and support foster families
These three programs provide the platforms for UMSM to create a larger framework of assistance and outreach into the community.
